Colour plays a vitally important role in the world in which we live. As a powerful form of communication, it is irreplaceable. Red means “stop” and green means “go.” Traffic lights send this universal message. Every person, or entity - such as an interior environment, a corporation or a product - has a personality that is best expressed, and supported, by a specific palette of colours.
In the technology world of advertising and messaging colour display and control works best with LIGHT EMITTING DIODES commonly called LED’s, which in their basic form are tiny lamps. The LED was, to begin with, selected as the ideal indicator light source because of its long life, reduced energy consumption and low heat generation compared with a conventional lamp.
To understand this light source initially we must be aware that we are no longer specifying only a lamp but a complete system of electronics. The primary colours of light are red, green and blue. Combinations of each produce an array of lighter, brighter colours, also called the system of colour mixing. Recent advances in LED technology has introduced the RGB LED, with each little lamp containing red, green and blue light-emitting diodes, which light up in varying combinations under computer control. For the first time, this is a truly usable light source for producing colour-change.
MGX combines LED’s with cutting edge technology to create products that open up new opportunities in every area of our environment. Our range of LED products extend from the smallest LED lamp to high-resolution LED displays for advertising. |
